Many arenas and dueltracks, such as the Trench Warfare Historical Museum and Arena hold "Classic Night" events in addition to their standard combats. These events are an intense challenge for autoduelists because technology is very limited. Victory becomes more dependent on skill and strategy.

When planning to hold a Classic Night Event, choose what "Tech Level" will be available. Only gadgets at this TL or before can be used for combats. If an item is not listed in the TL, the item cannot be acquired. For example, if a Classic Night Event will be using 2032 technology only the weapons and accessories found in Pocket Box Car Wars and Pocket Box Midville can be purchased.

Standard Car Wars Events are Tech Level 2041+. Car Wars Compendium Second Edition (2041) and Uncle Albert's Catalog From Hell (2042) are the two standard rulebooks for this type of Car Wars game.
